  • Celmacch® Shipping Its Carbon Fiber Chambers with TruPoint Green® Doctor Blade

Plymouth, MA, October 17, 2017.  Flexo Concepts® is excited to announce that Celmacch is shipping all its carbon fiber chambers with the TruPoint Green doctor blade.

Based in Italy, Celmacch is a leading producer of corrugated board converting equipment including carbon fiber doctor blade chambers.  The chambers are manufactured from a carbon fiber material which offers excellent anti-static properties, lightness, high strength to weight ratio, superior corrosion resistance and no structural vibrations.  Celmacch’s chambers are equipped with an innovative magnetic system for safe, quick and easy blade changes that don’t require tools.

The Italian OEM uses only premium components and chose TruPoint Green to maximize benefits for its customers.  By using Green, corrugated printers can economically produce high-quality print in a range of line screens without having to turn to steel.  The custom-compounded material demonstrates better stiffness and only half the mechanical creep of UHMW in addition to better wear rates and safety than steel.  To learn more about TruPoint Green, go to www.flexoconcepts.com or call 508-830-9506.

New MicroTip®, OEM Endorsements and Honey Liqueur Contributed to a “Best Ever” Labelexpo for Flexo Concepts®

Plymouth, MA, October 13, 2017.  New enhancements to its MicroTip technology, OEM support and a label collaboration with partners led to an overwhelming success for Flexo Concepts at Labelexpo Europe 2017.

At this year’s show, Flexo Concepts introduced a new and improved MicroTip to enhance metering and eliminate start-up lines in narrow web pressrooms.  “I think our dedication to listening to our customers and continually improving our technology speaks volumes about our commitment to the industry,” said CEO Kevin McLaughlin.  “I’ve attended more trade shows than I can count, but I have to say that this was the best Labelexpo ever for us in terms of generating leads, connecting with our distributors and networking with co-suppliers.”

A highlight of the event was that Orange was featured on equipment by AB Graphic, Cartes, Domino, Edale, Focus, Werosys and others, many of which ship new presses with the blade.  “It was great to hear all the buzz about Orange and how it’s becoming an everyday blade in so many label pressrooms,” added McLaughlin.

Visitors were also invited to stop by the company’s stand to check out a liqueur bottle label and sample some “Bee Sting” honey liqueur.  The label, a collaboration with fellow flexo suppliers to demonstrate new industry innovations, featured five-color modified process printing, metallic ink, custom die lines and high-quality print.

Plymouth, MA, October 13, 2017.  Flexo Concepts’ distribution partner, Stafford Corrugated Products, will promote the TruPoint Green doctor blade at Tappi’s CorrExpo event this fall in Providence, Rhode Island. Green is a drop-in replacement blade for printers who want to produce mid-level graphics without having to run steel.

TruPoint Green offers printers an easy alternative in these applications. The custom-compounded material demonstrates better stiffness and only half the mechanical creep of UHMW in addition to better wear rates and safety than steel. As a replacement for UHMW, Green can be installed with no shims or other clamp modifications.

Plymouth, MA, October 4, 2017.  Flexo Concepts® is excited to introduce its latest doctor blade innovation, TruPoint Green, at FEFCO’s Technical Seminar this year in Vienna.  Green will fulfill corrugated printers’ needs to produce mid-level graphics without having to run steel blades.

Plymouth, MA, September 11, 2017. In its quest to continue providing tag and label printers with innovative doctor blade advancements, Flexo Concepts® will introduce a new refinement to its doctor blade MicroTip technology at Labelexpo Europe 2017.

  • MicroClean IQ™ Human Machine Interface Simplifies Management of Anilox Roll Cleaning Process

MicroClean IQ Simplifies Anilox Roll CleaningPlymouth, MA, January 26, 2017. Flexo Concepts® announced the latest innovation to its MicroClean Anilox Roll Cleaning Machine: “MicroClean IQ.” MicroClean IQ is a human machine interface (HMI) that handles interactions between the machine and the operator and makes the anilox cleaning process even easier for users.

MicroClean IQ can be programmed with 30 “recipes,” or customized roll descriptions, in addition to roll specifications. Enhanced special cleaning options make it possible to isolate specific sections of the roll for extra cleaning, and operators are now able to pause and re-start a cleaning cycle as well as track remaining cleaning time. The new system will record all roll cleaning history and make recommendations for cleaning cycles and routine maintenance. All of these features, plus troubleshooting, are accessible directly through the touch screen display.

MicroClean is a dry, off-press system that uses air pressure to apply plastic media to remove dried ink and coating from anilox cells. In operation worldwide for 25 years, MicroClean machines remain the best off-line anilox cleaning option in terms of cost, maintenance and eco-friendliness in many flexo printing applications. MicroClean IQ is standard on all new models and the company will be offering upgrades for existing equipment.
