- What is the best TruPoint™ blade for my application?
1. How does TruPoint™ blade life compare to
steel?
Simply put, TruPoint™ doctor blades will outlast steel in
most every application. When used in doctor blade applications,
steel is not very wear resistant, especially when used against
hard, ceramic-coated anilox surfaces. Because TruPoint™ blades
are made from plastic and composite materials, we can alter the
molecular structure of the material and engineer our blades for
greater wear and corrosion resistance according to specific application
requirements. Our blades have been extensively tested and have
been proven to outlast steel up to four times.
2. How do TruPoint™ doctor blades save me
money?
The foundation of the TruPoint™ doctor blade product line
is its ability to produce consistent print quality over very long
print runs. We can achieve longer blade life with our TruPoint™ doctor
blades by altering the molecular structure of the material for
extended wear. As a result, the blade lasts longer and fewer blade
changes are necessary. Fewer blade changes mean fewer blades, less
press downtime, and less labor. Also, TruPoint™ blades are
less likely to cause anilox scoring which can be costly in terms
of print quality and re-engraving. We're confident that when you
compare the total cost of using TruPoint™ Doctor Blades to other
materials, our blades will save you money.
3. How do TruPoint™ doctor blades make my
work environment safer?
Due to their composition, TruPoint™ blades are safer to handle
and result in fewer lost-time accidents. As they wear, steel blades
can get a dangerous, razor-sharp edge and result in injury when
handled. Whether a TruPoint™ blade has just been taken from
the box or removed from the press after a long run, it is safe
to handle.
4. What is the best TruPoint™ blade for my application?
There is no 'one size fits all' doctor blade. Selecting the right
blade for a particular printing application requires an understanding
of the graphics requirements, importance of long blade life, and
desire to improve workplace safety. Visit our products section
