Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is expected to consistently find ways to improve our Manufacturing process by recommending modifications to existing equipment & processes, and procuring new equipment and automation from outside vendors.  This position will require an engineer with great organizational and communication skills, as well as a desire to engage members of our manufacturing team in continuous improvement activities that drive improvements to productivity, efficiency, quality and safety.  This position will work out of our Plymouth, MA office and will report directly to the Company’s Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing existing equipment and processes, developing ideas for improvements, then implementing those ideas.
  • Build systems that assure product and process quality by designing quality control methods, developing procedures for finished product testing, establishing standards and confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support by answering questions and requests from Production Team.
  • Drive initiatives that promote safety in the work place related to machine design and manufacturing procedures.
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Work in multiple engineering backgrounds including mechanical, electrical, quality, safety, process, industrial, and others as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts.
  • Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish tasks.
  • Use CAD software to develop ideas and designs by using a process of operator input and review to a variety of groups.  Produce 2D drawings for production to use in the manufacturing of parts and assemblies.
  • Provide documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell operators and vendors how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
  • Assure improvement results by designing testing methods, testing finished product, confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes. Complete projects by training and guiding technicians in the proper use of equipment.
  • Engage and manage outside vendors for purchases new equipment and custom automation. Provide feedback and updates on projects to internal staff.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, machine performance & mechanical issues and implementing improvement.
  • Work with minimal direction.

    Requirements

    • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, both in written and verbal form.
    • Ability to learn new products, equipment and their associated applications and processes.
    • Ability to identify problems / opportunities and implement permanent solutions.
    • BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, multitalented in several fields is a plus.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • CAD/CAM experience. SolidWorks and MasterCam a plus.
    • Ability to design, direct manufacturing, and assemble pieces of equipment.
    • Ability to operate in a fast paced environment.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
    • Ability to handle complex interlinked activities and balance priorities.
    • Creativity and the desire to excel in area of expertise and learn new disciplines.
    • Ability to work both on a team an autonomously.

    International Key Account Manager

    Job Description

    The ideal International Key Account Manager is an entrepreneurial self-starter who can plan, execute and grow both new and existing distributors while balancing day-to-day support activity. The primary focus is to grow revenue through relationship building, product awareness, training and by developing a network of advocates for our products. The International Key Account Manager is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to our distributors in addition to develop strategies for driving revenue and offering alternative solutions.  This position will work out of our Plymouth MA office and no relocation is currently being offered. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Increasing revenue with existing distributors and OEMs,
    • Assisting with the development of new distributors and OEMs,
    • Providing day-to-day support for distributors,
    • Answering inquiries via Skype, e-mail and telephone,
    • Managing on-going training or education through multiple communication vehicles,
    • Serving as internal advocate for distributors and OEMs to ensure their satisfaction,
    • Holding distributors accountable through regular distribution and review of performance reports,

    Requirements

    • Proven success prospecting and moving opportunities through a sales cycle,
    • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational, and communication skills,
    • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, both in written and verbal form,
    • Ability to use and learn new computer systems and applications,
    • Ability to learn new products, equipment and their associated applications and processes,  
    • Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint,
    • Exposure to general business processes; sales, marketing, business development, customer service,
    • Ability to utilize existing sales processes and procedures,
    • Ability to take responsibility for problems / opportunities and implement permanent solutions,
    • Proficient in Spanish or other language a plus,

    Candidate must have existing sales experience. Candidate will be trained in the use of ACT, Peachtree and GoToMeeting (proficiency in these programs within a 60 day period is a minimum requirement).
